"Strom Plumbing Madiera Deck Mount Faucet "
Not a speck wrong with the faucet out of the box. Note that the warranty requires a licensed plumber to install, but it's best to go over the installation procedures with the plumber before he/she begins -- my plumber was all set to use an adjustable wrench directly on the fittings -- which would have marred the brilliant chroming applied by the factory. Also, make sure the plumber reviews the directions and DOES NOT use plumbers putty (which will also void the warranty).
I bought this to have an old fashioned look but new fashioned capabilities in my new kitchen, and I have not been disappointed. This unit has craftsmanship -- everything is cast and machined brass -- of a type you rarely see in the stamped sheetmetal stuff that are modernist standard. The quarter-turn ceramic valves are top notch. My wife was concerned that the cross handles (as opposed to a lever handle) wouldn't let her operate the faucet properly, but Strom on their own website offers replacement lever handles -- which we wound up not needing to order because the cross handles are very easy to use -- you can nudge them opened or closed with one finger.
Vintage Tub shipped the unit promptly and it arrived in plenty of time for the remodellers to use.
